Hutton’s resignation does not add up

It very odd that Hutton’s resignation wasn't leaked if it was planned.  He once described Brown as a disaster.  Hutton said this morning:

I have decided to resign from the Government. I will also be standing down as a Member of Parliament at the next general election.

This is not the place to go into my reasons for leaving.

If the reasons were personal and he wanted to spend more time with his family, why doesn't he say so.  He could have stayed in post until the election even if he is standing down.  If his resignation was planned, his replacement would have been one of the first to have been announced.

There is more to come out from this resignation.
