Andrew Lansley, Shadow Secretary of State for Health, was interviewed on Today and said that the Tories would be increasing resources for the NHS, international aid and schools. Then he went on:
But that does mean over three years, after 2011, a 10% reduction in the departmental expenditure limits for other departments. It is a very tough spending requirement indeed.
Just when Cameron thought he had Brown on the back foot, this gives Moses all the ammunition he needs to attack Cameron over spending cuts at PMQs and cheer up his backbenchers.
Not a very smart move by Lansley on the day that Cameron has so much ammunition to fire at Brown.
