Brown has achieved his aim

Clearly Brown has had a public relations success at the G20.  No one should deny him that.  Earlier this week Brown was asked how he would judge if the summit was a success.  He gave an honest answer for a change:

For you to report it as a success.

He has achieved his aim.

What happens now?  Domestic issues will resurface such as the budget, MPs' expenses and the row over what Lord Myners knew about Goodwin's pension.  Brown will not wish to get bogged down with the latter two issues, although he will give much thought to the budget.

If the favourable press reaction continues and filters through to the polls, Brown then has to make that decision if he is to avoid those unknown unknowns.
