What counts at the end of the day

Off course some events in politics matter more than who is up and/or down the polls. “McBridegate” is one of those events.  How we are governed is of the greatest importance. However, as the dust settles on this sordid saga, the Labour party will take a close interest in the forthcoming polls.

The ever dependable Anthony Wells hints that we may get a poll this week or at the latest on Sunday.  It will be very interesting to see how the last few days has gone down with the voters.  If the Tory lead increases post “McBridegate”, then we can expect some significant increase in speculation that Brown may be overthrown before the election.  The next few polls will give an indication if this is likely to happen.

  1. I always take polls with a very large pinch of salt. Still look at them though :)
