Delivery of new trains for Thameslink have been delayed due the the financial problems at suppliers. The FT reports:
First Capital Connect (FCC), which is due to start operating a revised service on the cross-London Thameslink route on March 22, has so far received only one of 23 trains being built at Bombardier Transport’s Derby factory.
The Thameslink fleet is one of two big Bombardier orders to have been delayed by financial problems among its component suppliers.
Bombardier said the problem was mainly down to its suppliers:
We’ve had quite a number of suppliers go into administration.
It is obvious that contracts in many industries are being delayed due to suppliers going broke.
Darkened streets and now industry ceasing up. For those who don't remember the 1970s don’t panic, we are about to experience similar again, with the added bonus of having to declare your political affiliation to the banks.
