On the day new car production fell 59%, Mandy had this to say:
The government's job is to make sure that this very important industry and the supply chain - these vital companies - do not cut back and harm their capacity...in a way that would find it more difficult for them to take advantage of the upturn when it comes.
Could I kindly ask which bits of these vital companies will be left when the upturn arrives?
And then:
We're going to make sure that, where these companies have viable concerns, they do have a future. That's why I've been encouraging them to make applications in Europe...under the guidance and auspices of the Government.
I can’t make out whether to laugh or cry at this statement.
My eyes just roll over when Mandy speaks these days. How much more can we take?
