So Harman is being put up by Labour to front June's local and European election campaign. No doubt Brown hopes she will carry the can when the party finishes behind the LibDems. Harman will not see it this way. She will use the opportunity to further her leadership ambitions.
Expect her to be isolated and rubbished by No 10 as the campaign progresses. Still it keeps her in the public eye and the gossip going on the leadership.
Would it not be best for the all concerned to put up a non-entity like Douglas Alexander?

Wee Douglie made a mess of the last Scottish Parliament elections so perhaps he's not getting the chance again.
