The Observer: A nation mourns

It is with no sadness whatsoever that The Sunday Times reports that the little read Observer is likely to close due to losses that are similar in proportion to the public sector deficit.  When we will have one less paper to wade through on a Sunday has yet to be decided.

No doubt the betting will open very soon on where Andrew Rawnsley will find a home for his weekly thoughts, which are quickly forgotten once read.

Let us hope Brown doesn't announce from the nearly flooded Lake District that The Observer is his favourite read on the Sabbath.  That would only accelerate the paper’s demise.
