Hello, hello, hello. What do we have here. There is a little local difficulty in a some far away islands of which we know preciously nothing.
Due to "systematic corruption" the government of the Turks and Caicos Islands has been suspended following a Foreign Office report and power transferred to the governor.
How timely. Will there be civil unrest? Will Parliament have to be recalled for another historic Saturday session if British sovereignty is threatened? Will a Task Force have to set sail? Will Brian Hanrahan be despatched to say once again:
I'm not allowed to say how many planes joined the raid, but I counted them all out and I counted them all back.
Conflicts in distant islands do have the habit of rescuing unpopular Prime Ministers. Let us hope that Brown has an atlas with him in the Lake District!
