A case of organised chaos. Just what is going on at the Ministry of Defence? We now hear that the Merlin helicopters due to arrive Afghanistan may have armour-plating for extra protection fitted, but not until after they arrive. If that is not enough of a shambles, there is more. There were insufficient transport planes to move heavily armoured vehicles from Dubai and some are still to arrive in Afghanistan.
All this, of course, is caused by not only a simple lack of planning and overall logistics but by the failure of this government to invest in our armed forces and the equipment and support services that they obviously need.
