Alan Johnson, the Home Secretary, would be a better prime minister than Gordon Brown.

As John says:
The alternative prime minister's star is waning, just at the time when it needs to be waxing.
The question should be asked again after Our Man appears on Question Time.
The AJ4PM committee will have to meet for urgent discussions. We need a Plan B. Matters can’t go on as they are. Something must be done.
