Following his Evening Standard interview, neatly summed up here, we should wait to pass judgement on what Charles Clarke has to say until he gives his speech tonight to the Progress meeting.
However, he does says this to the Standard:
The Downing Street operation is the weakest I've seen ever in my life.
How true and let us hope that Alastair Campbell reflects on that remark.
While we wait, let us just stop the silly talk that Brown will resign on health grounds. Unless there is an unknown unknown, it isn't going to happen.
