Proof why it should have been Alan Johnson

The interview - not this one - that Alan Johnson gave to Andrew Marr was a masterful performance.  He demonstrated yet again why he is such a good media performer and reminded us that it should be him facing David Cameron at the election.

He was persuasive when he talked about Blair’s position over Iraq and then said this:

People want to see MPs treated the same way as they would be treated if they broke the law. They’re entitled to a fair trial - (the public would be) aghast if there was some special get out of jail card for parliamentarians.

We will just have to remind ourselves of this…
