Let us leave the searching questions that will need to be asked for another day and send our sympathies to the families and friends of the soldiers that have lost their lives.
Whatever your view on Afghanistan, one matter is certain. No war that this country chooses to fight can be continued without general cross-party support coupled with that from the general public.
