Radio 4 has a marvellous programme on the work of the famous No10 Garden Girls and their relationship with various Prime Ministers. It is well worth a listen.
Various titbits come to light. Heath was not interested in women; Wilson was liked and used help the girls out; Major was a charmer; Blair come to appreciate their advice and the pressure they worked under; and there is the story of how Kennedy's death was relayed to the PM.
Oh, and there is confirmation of Eden's temper. Nothing on Brown but then we already know about the phones and the printers.
