Prescott is obviously a sincere man and has strong feelings on the Banks bonus debate. He was his usual self on the subject, in what I thought was a rather stale Newsnight debate that got nowhere.
My contention is that I am not convinced on having Prescott fronting up the Labour Party line on this contentious issue. The public expects the Government to put his own case fronted by Ministers.
If the Government wants to be taken seriously that it is doing all it can to stop these bonuses being paid, then it should put its own case on TV and elsewhere. Otherwise it gives the impression that it is being driven by events, more so than is happening already.
