Obama is not getting everything his own way

Admittedly it is early days for Obama but clearly he is not getting his own way on Capitol Hill.  It is reported that the Senate has reached agreement on the stimulus package in a reduced form.

Obama is attempting to ram through his policies without doing enough persuading with Congress.  There is too much ‘do what I say’ in his approach.  Rightly or wrongly his way is not Washington's way.

On the domestic front he is giving the impression of being driven by events.  The big issue though is whether the stimulus package works.
