Is an apology from Brown likely?

An interesting if obvious article by Bagehot in The Economist, saying Brown should apologise for his mistakes that have contributed to the recession.

As I keep saying, his personality will not allow him to do so.  Even if Brown did apologise he would sound insincere.  He would only do so for short term political gain.
