Windows 7 beta is now available for download and has proved so popular that Microsoft’s server could not cope when it was released. There is a workaround highlighted by Mary-Jo Foley and other information on the system on Paul Thurrott’s SuperSite for Windows.
I partitioned my drive and have it running separately to my “working” Vista system at present. First impressions are good, and it is a vast improvement on Vista. It looks like Microsoft are on to a winner.
Let us hope it comes out of beta quickly. By the reaction today, it appears that users are keen to move on from Vista.
I am not able to judge whether the beta can be used for everyday computing. I will leave that for others to comment on.
