Brown speaks out

Brown has addressed Labour MPs calling them “friends and colleagues”.  He has called for “discipline and unity” at this “difficult and testing time”.  He said MPs had a duty to sort out the failings that had been laid bare by the revelations of the last few days.

It was unclear whether Brown was referring to the expenses revelations or Polly Toynbee’s latest about turn.  Furthermore, MPs left the meeting carrying an article from The Guardian and were in a confused state of mind.
