The quote of the debate from David Cameron

The Prime Minister-in-waiting last night:

I was in Plymouth recently and a 40-year old black man made the point to me: ‘I came here when I was six, I’ve served in the Royal Navy for 30 years, I’m incredibly proud of my country

Hat tip to Political Scrapbook:

Ummm … So that means he was what age when he joined the Navy, Dave? Ten years old?

  1. That's the problem with those of the left, you see everything through a prism of bitterness and reproach.

  2. Now you are being silly. It's a quote not an argument. Cameron made a mistake that is all. Get a life.

  3. I'm sure that most of the anecdotes that all three are using throughout the campaign are made up to support the message rather than reflecting actual conversations with real voters. Do you reckon that all the party leaders now employ a speech-writer who has the specific job of making up anecdotes?

  4. So let me get this right....

It's "the quote of the debate", but "Cameron made a mistake that is all". You don't see anything at all contradictory in those two statements, then? You really think that a fairly trivial verbal slip is the most important take-away from last night? Honestly?

However much you keep claiming otherwise, you obviously have such a big problem with "The Prime Minister-in-waiting" that you really are losing your sense of perspective.

I'm honestly sorry to say this, as I've enjoyed your blog in the past, but it truly is starting to make you seem absurd.
