Our man has been doing his stuff this morning:

Nick Clegg and the Liberal Democrats are experiencing some kind of slow puncture, the air is coming out of the tyre since the first debate.

He admitted that he didn't know that Simon Cowell had pledged his support for David Cameron in today's Sun newspaper and when asked whether he was a fan of TV talent shows, he said:

I'm supposed to say yes because I'm supposed to be in touch with popular culture, but not really.

It would have taken more than one night's campaigning by David Cameron to have stopped Alan Johnson winning Labour a fourth term.
