Did you find Clegg's approach of speaking directly into the camera to be effective? I (as an admittedly partisan observer) found it really weird and offputting, but I can see that it could help to raise him above the other two engaging with each other and the studio, so that he looks straight-talking and aloof while they look like they're squabbling.
